Sex Positions for the Injured

The first thing to remember is there are no sex positions specifically for disabilities or injuries. Every person is different and are in a unique situation. All you can do is find what works for you and how you can do it. These are only suggested positions and in no way are a guarantee or medically advised. Please see your doctor for the best advice.

You don't have to let an injury or disability stop you from trying to enjoy sex, just be careful and don't get frustrated, it should be a fun and loving experience with your partner.

If you are trying something out for the first time, take it slowly. No one wants to feel pain or discomfort. Check on how your partner is doing, maybe a different angle will change how it feels. Don't be afraid to say something if you aren't enjoying yourself or if you're in pain. You can always use props like pillows or foam to take some of the pressure off of you.

It may help to use positions that have low physical exertion as you don't want to tire out too quickly.

Penetration may not be possible, but that doesn't mean you can't still have fun!

Back Pain

THE T POSITION:

The woman lays flat on her back while the man lays perpendicular to her, facing her on his side. He straddles her leg furthest from him and enters her softly.

WOMAN ON TOP:

If he is in pain then woman on top may be a good solution, unless he can't handle much weight on him. He can raise his hands so she can hang on to them and move slower, causing less jarring. He can also keep his knees bent to offer more lower back support.

MISSIONARY:

If he has back pain and is on top he may want to lean on his elbows to keep the arch of his back to a minimum.

If she has back pain, she should keep her knees bent and have her partner put as little weight on her as possible. Start off slowly until you are comfortable with the position.

Hip Pain

If she has hip pain she should keep her legs as close together as possible, spreading her legs could cause pain. Doggy style is a good one as she can keep her legs together.

If he has hip pain he may have a limited ability to thrust. The less thrusting he has to do the better. He would benefit from woman on top positions or seated positions where she does the work.
