Why the delayed puberty?

by veni
(Puducherry, Puducherry, India)

Hai, My Dearest friend is 24 years old. But, she is not attend the puberty. What is the reason. How to cure the problem. Pls. advised me as soon as possible.

Answer

It is very rare that someone would not reach puberty, but it can happen. It is due to hormones or the lack of hormones. If there is an imbalance in the brain where the brain fails to send the hormones to either the testicles or the ovaries, then puberty would not begin.

If the person has had a serious disease like cancer, before puberty was to start, it may have caused the testicles/ovaries to not mature, therefore they would be unable to reach puberty.

Whatever the cause of this, the person would need to see a doctor as soon as possible to (hopefully) correct the situation. Hormone therapy, artifical hormones, would be administered, but only a doctor can do this. I don't believe there is anything they can do besides going to a doctor.

I hope this helps.
